Description
The light in this painting reminds me of Caravaggio’s lighting. It is streaming through the window onto the sheet and then to the floor. Note the purple reflected from the chair onto the sheet. There is a lot of reflected light in this piece, unified by the negative space of the dark shadows which carries the light throughout the work. I love the contrast of the formal old furniture juxaposed againt the rough timber of the barn which is used for weddings. The furniture is covered to help keep it clean.
